Green thumbs up for learning at St Lawrence High School and Junior College
The Grade 4 students of St. Lawrence High School and Junior College took a step into the world of agriculture with a fun-filled field trip to Krushi Vighan Bhawan at Gangapur road. With prior knowledge of plants from their curriculum, the students dove deeper into the fascinating world of different types of flowers, roots, leaves, and plants. The highlight of the trip was exploring the Polyhouse or greenhouse, a step into the future of farming.
During the visit, the students got to see many interesting plants up close and learned about the importance of honey bees in pollination. All this was explained by an expert so that they learn how crucial they are for our ecosystem. The students were also fascinated to learn about manure, earthworms, and their role in making farming sustainable and productive.
The place was so cool and enchanting for the students, sparking curiosity and love for nature. The visit aimed to inspire the youth to understand the importance of agro-based entrepreneurship, sustainability, and the backbone of our nation – our farmers. Kudos to our young learners for their enthusiasm and curiosity!
This experience is sure to inspire them to understand that farming is not just a profession, but a way to cultivate values and appreciate the hard work of our farmers.
