The Lawrentian Grade 4 Survival Specialists: Braving the “Shipwrecked” Storm
What would you do if you were left out on a deserted island? This is just how shocked our grade 4 students felt after listening to the story of Shipwrecked.
While the story follows a harrowing adventure at sea, the real lesson learnt by the students was about teamwork, creativity, and courage. The students learned that when difficulty strikes, they must stay together and face their challenges without any fear. The purpose of being resourceful at any stage was achieved by this safety tool kit.
To bring this lesson to life, the class used their incredible creativity to build custom Safety Kit Boxes. These weren’t just craft projects; they were symbols of unity. Using recycled materials and decorated shoeboxes, students packed their kits with imaginative tools like hand-drawn maps and “focus whistles” to keep the group together.
Even without using original materials, their customized safety measures showed that with a little imagination and a lot of heart, they can overcome any storm together.
