Class Elections at the Primary Section at St Lawrence High School and Junior College
“One vote, one voice, one better classroom.” by Daisaku Ikeda
Teachers at St. Lawrence High School And Junior College told the students about class elections. They explained the posts like class monitor, cupboard monitor, row monitor, discipline monitor, and attendance monitor. Students who wanted the jobs wrote letters to the class teacher.
On voting day, each student stood on the platform and spoke. After that, the other students raised their hands to vote for the one they liked. The teacher counted the hands and said who won.
The students liked this activity. They learned how real elections work. They saw that voting is a job for all and each vote is important.
The winners were picked to help the whole class.
