An English Project-Based Learning (PBL) activity was conducted for the students on the topic “Life’s Sweet Sound” by Ruskin Bond. The class was divided into four groups, and each group was assigned a specific question to understand, research, and present. The students took complete responsibility for their tasks, including collecting relevant material, planning, organizing, and preparing their presentations.
The main objective of the project was to make students aware of different types of music, how music influences mood, and to explore various ragas and their effects. Students enthusiastically created charts, recorded natural sounds such as creaking doors, footsteps, and chirping birds, and shared insightful information about Ruskin Bond, the author of the story. This project not only enhanced their understanding of the lesson but also encouraged teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking.
