Founder’s Day Celebration at St. Lawrence

“Founders’ Day is not just a celebration; it is a reminder of the dreams, values, and sacrifices that continue to inspire us every day.”

St Lawrence High School and Junior College celebrated Founders’ Day with great enthusiasm and pride to honour the vision and dedication of our school’s founder, Mrs. Summan Datta.

Prior to the celebration, students and teachers participated in a range of activities with the intention of giving back to the society. Students planted trees on a hill. Another group of students visited an old age home to serve meals cooked by us at school. Books, sports equipment and stationary was donated by the students which they gifted to the students of an ashram school. The students of class 11 and 12 visited an old age home with material that they had bought from their own pocket money. The students spent a morning with the residents, giving them the one thing they desire most – companionship.

The idea was to pay tribute to our Founder’s hard work and to inspire students to uphold the values which Mam embodies and on which the institution was built.

Students of the grade 10 presented cultural performances such as songs, dances, speeches and a rap song showcasing Mrs. Summan Datta’s vision and the growth of the school over the years, which filled everyone with pride and gratitude.

The journey of our Founder was not an easy one. Starting from a small building with a few students, working tirelessly day and night, she built the school brick by brick. Today, we stand as a testimony to her vision, courage, and determination.

On the occasion of Founders Day, Ma’am inspired the students with her words;

“Success is not measured by how many times we win, but by how much effort we put in. Give your 100% in everything — your studies, your dreams, and your responsibilities. When you give your best, results will follow.” Founder’s Day is a special day which reminds us of the vision, dedication, and perseverance of our school’s pioneer.
