Celebration of Marathi Language Pride Day at St. Lawrence High School & Junior College

St. Lawrence High School & Junior College celebrated Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din with great enthusiasm. The theme for the occasion was “Women Empowerment”, and various cultural and academic programmes were organised. The main objective of the event was to instill pride in the Marathi language and to spread awareness about the strength and empowerment of women among students.

The programme began with poetry recitation, storytelling, and speeches based on women empowerment. Students then presented a beautiful group dance on the song “Baicha Janma Ghaicha…”, which won the hearts of the audience. A special attraction of the event was an original song performed by the school choir and composed by the school’s music teacher.

Students delivered speeches highlighting the glory of the Marathi language and enacted the roles of the first women achievers in various fields. Dressed as pioneering women, including Savitribai Phule, the students presented powerful dialogues and inspiring messages for women. On the occasion of Marathi Fortnight, various competitions were organised in the school. Storytelling competition was conducted for Grade 5, poetry recitation for Grade 6, slogan writing for Grade 7, elocution for Grade 8, and essay writing for Grade 9. Students who secured first, second, and third positions were awarded certificates of appreciation.
