Making money relatable at St Lawrence High School and Junior College

“Learning becomes meaningful when children experience it in real life.”

St. Lawrence High School conducted a Money Activity for the primary section to help students understand the concept of money in an interesting and practical way. The activity helped students learn how money is used in daily life and why it is important.

During the activity, students identified different coins and notes and learned their values. They participated in simple buying and selling activities using play money. Children acted as shopkeepers and customers and practised counting money, adding amounts, and giving the correct change. This made learning enjoyable and meaningful.

Teachers guided the students throughout the activity and encouraged active participation. The activity helped students improve their mathematical skills, confidence, and decision-making ability.

The Money Activity was informative and fun. It helped students connect classroom learning with real-life experiences and made the concept of money easy to understand.
