At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, we strongly believe that children learn best through hands-on and experiential learning. Keeping this in mind, a practical Math session on Time was conducted for our Grade 1 and Grade 2 students.

The purpose of this session was to help children clearly understand the concept of hours and minutes, as time can be an abstract topic at this age. Through activity-based learning, we aimed to make the concept simple, meaningful, and easy to remember.

During the session, children used a clock model to move the hour and minute hands and show different times. They also participated in a creative activity where they sat in the sequence of a clock and represented the time themselves.
This interactive approach not only strengthened their understanding but also improved their confidence, teamwork, and active participation. The session was conducted to ensure that learning was joyful, practical, and effective.
