The students Class 7 of St. Lawrence High School & Jr. College participated in a fun Geography activity that involved plotting the states of India on a map. The activity aimed to enhance students’ understanding of Indian geography by focusing on the states and their respective locations based on cardinal directions.
The students were divided into several groups, with each group assigned a specific direction: North, South, East, or West. A leader was chosen for each group, who then picked a direction for their team. The task for each group was to accurately plot the states corresponding to their assigned direction on a large map of India.
This allowed students to visualize the geographical layout of India and understand how states are positioned relative to each other. The groups presented their work to the class, explaining the states they had plotted and discussing any challenges they encountered. The activity was highly successful in achieving its objectives. Students thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experience and actively participated in the group discussions. The exercise also fostered teamwork, leadership, and a deeper appreciation for Indian geography.
