Learning Through Stories: A Fun Adventure in Grade 1!
Learning became an exciting adventure for our Grade 1 students at St. Lawrence High School and Junior College as they took part in a hands-on activity that turned language learning into a fun and engaging experience.
The young learners explored an imaginative story titled “Pinchoo’s Holiday with Grandma.” This delightful tale sparked curiosity and joy among the students while teaching them important life lessons in a way they could easily understand.
Throughout the story, students learned about the importance of spending quality time with grandparents and discovered simple ways they can help and care for them. It also gently reminded them that TV and screen time are not the only ways to enjoy a holiday—real fun can be found in conversations, helping around the house, and sharing love with family.
To deepen their learning, the students participated in related classroom activities where they shared their own experiences with their grandparents, drew pictures, and even acted out scenes from the story. These hands-on exercises helped them connect the story to real life, improving both their language skills and moral understanding.
