Stories that Shape Young Hearts
“Storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world.”
At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, learning comes alive through stories that inspire and teach. Our Grade 1 students had a delightful experience exploring values through the charming tale “Six Cats with Calico Caps.”
As they counted the cats and admired their colorful caps, laughter filled the classroom — but beneath the fun, deeper lessons unfolded. The story encouraged children to be helpful, focused, and attentive, gently reminding them of the joy that comes from kindness and teamwork.
To deepen their learning, the young storytellers participated in creative follow-up activities, shared how they could help others, and even narrated the story in their own words — boosting both their confidence and communication skills.
The session was a beautiful blend of joy and meaning. Through such storytelling experiences, St. Lawrence continues to nurture empathy, imagination, and moral growth, helping young learners become thoughtful and responsible individuals — one story at a time.
