Learning about endangered species at St Lawrence High School and Junior College

The Grade 1 students at St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, learned about the slender-horned gazelle, an endangered animal found in Africa. Its color is a mix of cream and yellowish white. The children were fascinated to discover that the slender-horned gazelle can jump up to 10 feet in the air. They also learned that these animals are hunted for their horns and meat. The students were excited to explore more interesting features of this unique gazelle.

As part of their activity, the students researched information about the slender-horned gazelle during their computer class. They enjoyed looking at pictures, reading simple features and facts about this endangered animal, and understanding why we should not hunt animals or cut down trees.
