Learning about China and South Korea at St Lawrence High School and Junior College

China is a fascinating country with a rich history, a unique culture, and many wonderful contributions to the world, making it fun and exciting for students to learn about.

Hence, we introduced it to the students of Grade 3 at St. Lawrence High School and Junior College.

One of the most beautiful things about China is its culture. The country celebrates many traditional festivals, such as the Chinese New Year. Students also learned about art forms like calligraphy.

Students explored important basic facts about China as well. The capital city of China is Beijing, a very large and historic city. The currency used in China is the Chinese Yuan.

China is also known for its important inventions that have changed the world. Some of the most famous inventions include paper, printing, the compass, and gunpowder. It is amazing to think that something as simple as paper, which we use every day in school, was first invented in China.

Another interesting part of their learning was about the giant panda. The giant panda is a special animal found mainly in the forests of China. It is known for its black-and-white fur and its love for eating bamboo.

In conclusion, learning about China has helped students understand its rich culture, important inventions, capital city, currency, and unique wildlife. It has helped them appreciate how different countries contribute to the world in their own special ways—just as we teach our students that each one of them is special and unique in many different ways.
