Honouring Our Patron Saint at St. Lawrence High School and Junior College

“The purpose of life is to contribute in some way to making things better.” — Daisaku Ikeda

At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 2 students joyfully celebrated St. Lawrence Day on 10th August to honour the patron saint of our school, Saint Lawrence of Rome. The objective of the celebration was to help students understand and imbibe the values of faith, courage, compassion, and selfless service that St. Lawrence exemplified throughout his life.

As part of the celebration, the Grade 2 students presented a meaningful enactment of the life of St. Lawrence. Through their confident performances, they portrayed his unwavering faith, his dedication to serving the poor, and his remarkable courage in the face of adversity. The activity helped the students connect with the inspiring story of their patron saint in an engaging and memorable way.

The celebration was a wonderful learning experience that encouraged the children to reflect on the importance of kindness, humility, and helping others. It reminded them that St. Lawrence is not only the patron saint of our school but also a role model whose life continues to inspire us to serve others with love and compassion.
