At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 1 students celebrated Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala. The objective of the session was to help students learn about the culture, traditions, and festivals of different states of India. Teachers dressed in traditional Kasavu sarees and mundus and introduced students to Onam through flashcards. The children learned about Vallam Kali (snake boat racing), Onam Sadya, and the significance of Pookalam in the festival. St. Lawrence High School and Junior College introduced “Social Emotional Literacy”, a new subject this academic year, to support the holistic development of students. As part of this initiative, the Primary Section conducted a meaningful session to help children understand themselves better and develop self-awareness. During the session, students reflected on their likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations. As part of an engaging activity, each student created a personal web by placing their photograph at the centre and writing their likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, and future aspirations around it. Students of St. Lawrence High School and Junior College once again brought pride and glory to the school by showcasing remarkable talent at the Guru-Shishya Smriti Mahotsav held at K.K. Wagh School. The Mahotsav provided a wonderful platform for students to display their creativity, confidence, and artistic skills. The event commenced with a vibrant Rangoli Competition, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from several schools across the district, representing both urban and rural areas. The theme for the competition was “Nature Painting”, encouraging students to express their creativity through colourful and imaginative artwork.

At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Primary Section celebrated Independence Day 2026 with pride and patriotism. The programme began with patriotic songs and speeches in Hindi, English and Marathi. The highlight was a skit on "The Dandi March - Salt Satyagraha". Through this, the children understood the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the meaning of peaceful courage and truth. History was kept alive as students learned that true freedom today means discipline, cleanliness, responsibility and respect for our motherland. It has been rightly said that celebrating Independence Day is not merely a commemoration of liberty achieved, but a reaffirmation of the social contract that transforms abstract rights into lived responsibilities. The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with a lot of fervor at St. Lawrence High School & Jr. College on the theme ‘Rights to Responsibilities.’ The students of grade 9 expressed their opinions on the theme reiterating the fact that being responsible begins from school life itself. "A Happy Home is Filled with Love and Care!" At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 1 students enthusiastically participated in an interactive EVS lesson on "Home Sweet Home." The students learned about the importance of a home, different types of houses such as kutcha and pucca houses, the various rooms in a house, and the value of keeping their homes clean and helping their family members. The objective of the session was to help students understand the importance of a safe and loving home and encourage them to
