At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 1 students celebrated the National Symbols of India. The objective of the session was to help students learn about the pride and identity of our nation and develop love and respect for our country.

Teachers introduced students to the National Symbols through colourful flashcards. They learned about our National Flag – the Tiranga, our National Anthem – Jana Gana Mana, our National Bird – the Peacock, our National Animal – the Tiger, our National Flower – the Lotus and our National Tree – the Banyan Tree.

Students actively participated in identifying the symbols, drawing and colouring our National Flag and sharing a few lines about each symbol. It was enjoyable, informative and helped students understand the importance of our national symbols and filled their young hearts with pride about being an Indian.
