The different faces of India
“Learning about the world helps us understand and appreciate its beauty.”
At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 2 students enjoyed an interesting and engaging session on the landforms of India. The objective of the session was to help students understand the different landforms of India and learn about the major water bodies surrounding the country in a simple and meaningful way.
The teachers used a 3D model to explain the different geographical features of India. Students learned about the Himalayas in the north and the Thar Desert in the west. They also learned about the islands of India and the water bodies surrounding the country—the Arabian Sea in the west, the Bay of Bengal in the east, and the Indian Ocean in the south. The children understood that India has a variety of landforms, including mountains, deserts and islands.
The session made learning fun and helped students connect geographical concepts with visual examples. The children participated with great interest and curiosity as they explored the diverse landforms and water bodies of India. It was a wonderful learning experience that encouraged them to learn more about the beautiful and diverse geography of our country.
