Clean hands, clean hearts – A healthy start!

At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, we believe in instilling good habits in our students from a young age. Recently, our Primary section students celebrated Hygiene Week with great enthusiasm, learning the importance of cleanliness and self-care.

The activity began with a short talk by the teacher, emphasizing the significance of hygiene in daily life. Students learned that good hygiene means care taking of our bodies , clothes, and surroundings, which helps us stay away from germs and sickness.

Some key takeaways from the activity included:

– Brushing teeth morning and night

– Taking a daily bath to stay fresh

– Washing hands with soap before eating and after using the toilet

– Wearing clean clothes

– Keeping nails short and hair combed

– Maintaining cleanliness of school bags, water bottles, and tiffin boxes

Through this activity, children understood that clean habits keep us healthy, strong, and happy. They promised to keep their bodies, homes, school, and surroundings clean, adopting the motto: “Good hygiene is the first step towards a good life.”

Inspired by Global Hand Hygiene Day on May 5th, our activity aimed to reinforce proper handwashing techniques and encourage self-hygiene practices. Students learned simple steps of washing hands and the importance of keeping the nails neat and clean.

By prioritizing hygiene, our students are taking a step towards a healthier future. We’re proud to nurture responsible and health-conscious individuals who will make a positive impact in their communities.
