It all makes “sense” at St Lawrence High School and Junior College

“Our five senses don’t just help us survive—they help us connect, imagine, and grow.”

To highlight the value of our five senses—sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch—the Grade 1 students of St. Lawrence High School and Junior College recently took part in an engaging senses activity, in which they  engaged in a fun and interactive game to recognize the five sense organs and understand their functions. A special dice was used, with each side representing one of the five senses—sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch.

Students took turns rolling the dice, identifying the sense organ it landed on, and then visiting the corresponding station. At each station, they experienced that particular sense—for example, tasting different flavors, smelling familiar scents, listening to sounds, observing visuals, or feeling various textures.

This hands-on activity helped students connect each sense organ with its function in an enjoyable and memorable way, making learning both fun and meaningful.
