Author World at St Lawrence High School and Junior College!
“Reading should not be presented to children as a chore, a duty. It should be offered as a gift.” – Kate DiCamillo
At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, Grade 2 students are learning about authors by exploring the life and work of Julia Donaldson. Each week, they listen to her stories, observe her writing style, and understand the role of illustrations.
This activity is helping students develop a love for reading and inspiring them to become young authors. As they enjoy these stories, they also build a strong reading habit from an early age—enriching their imagination and knowledge.
As Cicero said, “A room without books is like a body without a soul.”
