Unicorns and reality checks at St. Lawrence High school and Junior College
At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the students of Grade 1 enjoyed reading the book “Yuki the Unicorn” by Sonia Mehta. The story shares a lovely message that always be yourself unless you can be a unicorn, then always be a unicorn. Through Yuki’s journey, students learned important values such as self-acceptance, friendship, perseverance, and believing in oneself. Tiger tales at St Lawrence High School and Junior College
At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 1 students learned about the Tasmanian Tiger, an endangered animal that once lived in Australia and Tasmania. The children were fascinated to discover that the Tasmanian Tiger looked like a dog but had tiger-like stripes on its back. They also learned that it is now considered extinct, making it an important species to study and remember.
