The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at St Lawrence High School & Junior College.
The programme began with the national anthem, “Jana Gana Mana”, which filled the air with a sense of unity and pride. This was followed by the patriotic song “Vijayi Vishwa Tiranga Pyara”, honouring the tricolour as the symbol of our nation’s strength and freedom.A patriotic medley was then presented, followed by an energetic song paying tribute to our brave soldiers. The heartfelt renditions stirred deep emotions among the audience and reminded everyone of the sacrifices made for the country’s independence.The programme continued with the young students expressing their views on

A special awareness programme on Menstruation and Hygiene was organized at St Lawrence High School and Junior College for the girls of Grade 6. The session aimed to educate young girls about menstrual health, hygiene practices, and to break the silence and stigma associated with this natural biological process. The programme was conducted by Dr. Ranjit Mehta and Dr. Nanda Mehta, who interacted with the students in a friendly and respectful manner. An Intraclass Drawing Competition was held at St.Lawrence High School and Junior College for grade 5 to 8 . The theme varied for different classes . For grade 5 the theme was ‘Save Water’, for grade 6 – Under Water World’, grade 7- Pollution and grade 8 – ‘My Country , My Pride’ The theme was chosen keeping in mind the importance of creating awareness among the students as well as providing them the opportunity to express themselves through their work.

"Our five senses don’t just help us survive—they help us connect, imagine, and grow." To highlight the value of our five senses—sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch—the Grade 1 students of St. Lawrence High School and Junior College recently took part in an engaging senses activity, in which they engaged in a fun and interactive game to recognize the five sense organs and understand their functions. A special dice was used, with each side representing one of the five senses—sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch.
