Awareness Session on Menstruation, Wellness and Hygiene

at St. Lawrence High School & Jr. College

When girls are given the right knowledge at the right time, they grow with confidence rather than fear.

Keeping in mind the well-being of our young girls as they enter an important phase of growing up, an awareness session on Menstruation, Wellness and Hygiene was organised for the girls of Class VI of our school.  Dr. Ranjit Mehta and Dr. Mrs. Nanda Mehta, guided the students through the physical and emotional changes associated with puberty, with special emphasis on understanding the menstrual cycle.

The session aimed to help the girls view menstruation as a natural and healthy process and prepare them for its onset with awareness, confidence and dignity. The resource persons addressed menstrual hygiene, common concerns and misconceptions, while also highlighting the importance of proper nutrition, personal hygiene, healthy habits, adequate rest and emotional well-being.

The students were encouraged to ask questions and clarify their doubts in a safe and comfortable environment. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the importance of providing young girls with accurate information and appropriate guidance at the right stage of their lives. The session was a thoughtful step towards helping the girls understand and care for their changing bodies, while fostering confidence, self-awareness and a healthy attitude towards growing up.
