A vital aspect of teaching is communication and classroom management. In absence of these, effective teaching can not take place.

The teachers of St. Lawrence High School and Junior College attended a workshop on Classroom Management and Communication.

The session emphasised on the necessity of understanding a student’s attitude, enabling the teachers to recognise the ones needing attention and address the issue decisively.

The teachers were also made aware that there are several external elements that influence a student’s behaviour and development and how to deal with these effectively yet gently.

The teachers also understood that positive strokes and units of interpersonal recognition are required to live and grow. The key to effective class management is to build relationships with students and create a good classroom atmosphere. Both of these outcomes do not occur automatically and take intentional effort.
