Creating Worlds through Stories at St Lawrence High School and Junior College

“Good stories are heard with the ears, but great stories are felt with the heart — when we truly listen.”

At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, we believe in nurturing imagination and creativity through meaningful learning experiences.

As part of their Kathalaya storytelling session, our Grade 2 students enjoyed the story “Lolli’s Little World,” narrated by the teacher using expressive props. The story follows a little girl named Lolli, who uses simple shapes to create her own imaginative world.

This session was conducted to encourage creative thinking, visual storytelling, and emotional expression through art. Inspired by the story, children joyfully drew their own dream worlds—turning shapes into imaginative scenes that reflected their thoughts and feelings.

It was a joyful, meaningful experience that helped students connect storytelling with self-expression in a fun and engaging way.
