From Golden Touch to Creativity of Paper Cranes at St Lawrence High School and Junior College
At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the 3rd and 4th‑grade students recently explored the classic tale “The Golden Touch” through an engaging storytelling session at Kathalaya.
The story sparked lively discussions about greed, kindness, and the value of true happiness. After listening to the story, the students took part in a hands‑on activity – crafting cranes from newspaper. Guided by teachers, they folded, twisted, and shaped the pages into delicate origami cranes — a symbol of peace and transformation.
The activity helped reinforce the moral of the tale — that material wealth can never replace the joy of giving and learning. The students proudly displayed their colorful cranes on classroom walls, reminding everyone that real treasure lies in creativity and compassion.
