Fun with geography at St Lawrence High School

With curious minds and happy hearts, the Grade 3 students at St. Lawrence High School and Junior College enjoyed a special classroom session getting to learn about Continents and Oceans.

The teacher began by explaining that a continent is a very large piece of land. The children learned that there are seven continents – Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Oceania. Using a colourful world map, the children pointed to and named each continent, feeling proud on finding where they live – in Asia.

In the next class they explored the wonders of the oceans. Students learned about the five main oceans – Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern, and Arctic.

Through fun pictures and a quiz, the children learnt that both continents and oceans are very important for life on Earth. They promised to care for our land and keep our oceans clean.

At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, we always teach our students that the more we know our world, the more we love it.
