How homes are made taught at St Lawrence High School and Junior College

At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, our Grade 2 students learnt about different types of houses. The session was conducted to help them understand how people build homes according to the weather, place, and materials available around them.

They learnt that Kutcha houses are made of mud, hay, and wood, while Pucca houses are made of bricks, cement, and stones. They were also introduced to special types of houses such as caravans, which are movable homes; houseboats, which floats on water; igloos, made of ice and snow; and stilt houses, built on wooden poles in flood-prone areas.

The session helped students understand the importance of eco-friendly materials, and how people across the world build homes to suit their environment and stay safe and comfortable.
