Learning through Earning: A Step towards Social Responsibility
September is celebrated as Gratitude Month in St.Lawrence High School school, and it is also the month of our Founder’s Day. To mark this special occasion, the students of Grade 4 took part in a meaningful project called Learning through Earning. In this project, the children earned money by doing small tasks such as folding clothes, helping their neighbors with household chores, and assisting shopkeepers in their shops. The money they collected will be used to buy steel bottles for the aunties who work in the school.
Along with this, the children also used waste plastic bottles to make small stools. These stools will be donated to the school, showing how creativity and recycling can turn waste into something useful.
This thoughtful idea not only shows care for the school staff but also supports the environment by reducing plastic waste. Through this activity, students learned teamwork, the value of hard work, how to earn and spend money wisely, and the joy of helping others. In total, the students earned ₹8,235, making this project a proud and memorable experience for everyone.
Truly, this shows that small hands can make a big difference.
