My Maharashtra at St Lawrence High School and Junior College
The Grade 2 students of St Lawrence High School and Junior College were introduced to the state of Maharashtra – one of the largest and most progressive states of India, located in the western part of the country. They also discussed how Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, is known as the financial capital of India.
We took the children to the A.V.room and showed them all the videos and photos related to the state. They were taught how Marathi is the main language spoken in Maharashtra, the famous food of Maharashtra is ukadiche modak, thalipeeth, puran poli and the famous dance form here is Lavani.
All the students were already familiar with so many facts but they loved learning about them in a structured manner.
The teachers then told the students to collect some pictures related to Maharashtra like of its famous food, dance forms, attire and more. They all stuck these pictures on a huge outline of Maharashtra and had a great time while doing so.
