At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 1 students celebrated Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala. The objective of the session was to help students learn about the culture, traditions, and festivals of different states of India.

Teachers dressed in traditional Kasavu sarees and mundus and introduced students to Onam through flashcards. The children learned about Vallam Kali (snake boat racing), Onam Sadya, and the significance of Pookalam in the festival.

Students actively participated in decorating Pookalams and colouring Onam-themed pictures. The session was enjoyable, informative, and helped students develop an appreciation for India’s rich cultural heritage.
