Social Emotional Literacy at St Lawrence High School and Junior College

St. Lawrence High School and Junior College introduced “Social Emotional Literacy”, a new subject this academic year, to support the holistic development of students.

As part of this initiative, the Primary Section conducted a meaningful session to help children understand themselves better and develop self-awareness. During the session, students reflected on their likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations.

As part of an engaging activity, each student created a personal web by placing their photograph at the centre and writing their likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, and future aspirations around it.

This creative activity encouraged students to express themselves confidently, recognize their unique qualities, and reflect on their personal growth. The objective of the session was to promote self-awareness, self-expression, and emotional well-being while helping students develop a positive self-image and appreciate their individuality.
