Do Akshar Wale Shabd – Building Strong Hindi Foundations
“Hindi is the soul of Indian culture.”
At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 1 students are learning Hindi through engaging, hands-on activities. As part of their language development, the students recently participated in the “Do Akshar Wale Shabd”activity—focused on forming meaningful two-letter Hindi words.
Using their understanding of swar (vowels) and vyanjan (consonants), students selected a vowel and experimented by pairing it with different letters to form simple, meaningful words.
This interactive activity not only enhanced their Hindi vocabulary but also boosted cognitive skills like recognition, reading, and word formation. The joyful learning process made language fun and accessible for young learners, strengthening their foundation in Hindi.
