Fires are Rare When Care Is There!
At St. Lawrence High School & Junior College, our commitment to safety was recently highlighted during a crucial fire drill for Grade 2 students. The event aimed to educate young learners on fire-fighting techniques and the importance of swift, calm responses during emergencies.
As soon as the fire alarm sounded, an efficient evacuation operation was set in motion. Class teachers guided their students to the designated safe area on the school grounds, emphasizing the importance of remaining calm and collected. Once assembled, students were reminded to stay close to their teachers and to follow all instructions carefully.
This mock drill served a dual purpose: not only did it test the school’s preparedness for a potential fire emergency, but it also instilled essential knowledge and skills in both students and staff regarding fire-fighting and rescue operations. By fostering awareness and practice, we aim to ensure that safety remains a top priority at St. Lawrence, empowering our students to act confidently in the face of danger.
