General Knowledge: Water Bodies!!
“Water and air, the two essential fluids on which all life depends, have become global garbage cans.”
—Jacques Cousteau
At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 2 students recently embarked on an enlightening journey to explore the water bodies that surround and exist within India. Through engaging lessons, they discovered that India is bordered by three major water bodies: the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean, and the Bay of Bengal.
The students had the opportunity to visualize these vast bodies of water on a globe and even took a virtual tour, deepening their understanding of our planet’s aquatic resources. This immersive experience not only broadened their geographical knowledge but also instilled in them the crucial value of environmental stewardship.
The young learners were taught the importance of protecting our Mother Earth by preventing water pollution and spreading awareness within their communities. They have embraced the responsibility of safeguarding these vital resources, recognizing that every small action contributes to the preservation of our planet.
This lesson in general knowledge was more than just a study of geography; it was a call to action, encouraging our students to be mindful guardians of the Earth’s precious water bodies.
