Lantern-Making Activity
St Lawrence High School and Junior College organized an engaging and fun-filled Lantern-Making Activity for the students from class VI to VIII. The event aimed to ignite the children’s creativity, foster teamwork, and teach them the importance of cultural traditions, as lantern-making is a popular craft in many cultural celebrations not just in our own country but also around the world. The lantern-making activity was designed not only to be fun but also educational. Drawing teachers used the opportunity to talk to the children about the cultural significance of lanterns in festivals like Diwali, New Year, and Mid-Autumn Festival. This gave the students a broader understanding of how lanterns are used in celebrations around the world, symbolizing light, hope, and happiness.
