Lawrentians celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with Great Love and Faith.
The vibrant chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya, Mangal Murti Morya” reverberated through the corridors of St. Lawrence High School and Junior College as the entire school came together to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with great fervour and devotion.
Like every year, Lawrentians upheld their tradition of celebrating this auspicious festival in an eco-friendly manner, reinforcing their commitment to both cultural legacy and the environment.
This year, the students of Class 9 played a pivotal role in organizing the celebrations, showcasing their dedication and love for Lord Ganesha. The theme chosen by them was ‘Teachings of Mahabharata’. From crafting an eco-friendly idol of Ganpati Bappa to meticulously performing the rituals of sthapana, pooja, aarti, and prasad distribution, every aspect of the celebration was carried out with utmost devotion and enthusiasm.
Over the five days of the festival, the atmosphere was filled not only with love and reverence for Lord Ganesha but also with a profound sense of responsibility, unity, and cultural pride. The celebrations served as a reminder of the importance of preserving our heritage while embracing diversity within the school community. The immersion of the Ganpati idol was conducted in an eco-friendly manner, adhering with the school’s goals of sustainable development. Adding to the celebratory spirit, the school band brought the grounds to life with vibrant music, elevating the joy and enthusiasm of the students. As the time came to bid farewell to Bappa, the Lawrentians, with heavy hearts yet hopeful spirits, danced and sang in unison, praying for the Lord’s swift return in the coming year.
