Math magic at St Lawrence High School and Junior college!
“Mathematics reveals its secrets only to those who approach it with pure love, for its own beauty.”
– ARCHIMEDES
An enjoyable session with 3D shapes was conducted at St. Lawrence High School & Junior College.
It was a fun session for the Grade 2 students. They learnt about the difference between 2D & 3D shapes.
They were taught that 2D means 2 Dimensional shapes & we can see them only from 2 sides whereas 3D means 3 Dimensional & we can see them only from 3 sides.
The students took the shapes in their charming hands & explored their properties like their faces, edges & vertices.
They also learnt that we come across many different objects that are of different shapes & sizes such as boxes, bottles, ice cream, beds, balls etc.
The motive behind this lesson was to make them understand the difference between 2D & 3D shapes which we use in our day to day lives.
