National Symbols at St. Lawrence High School and Junior College

“A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people.”

— Mahatma Gandhi

The smart learners of Grade 2 at St. Lawrence High School and Junior College enthusiastically participated in an engaging lesson on National Symbols of India.

Using colourful flashcards and visual learning materials, students learned about India’s National Emblem and National Currency, while other symbols such as the National Flag, National Animal, National Bird, National Flower, National Fruit, National Tree, and National Anthem were revised through interactive activities. The visual learning materials helped them easily identify and understand the importance of each symbol.

The highlight of the lesson was the picture identification and observation activity, followed by a colourful handprint activity in which students created handprint impressions in their books to represent the National Animal, National Bird, National Flower, and National Fruit. The creative activity made learning enjoyable and memorable while encouraging active participation.

This enriching learning experience enhanced the students’ general knowledge and encouraged them to develop love, respect, and pride for their country.
