Promoting Safety at St. Lawrence High School and Junior College

Safety is a top priority in all aspects of our lives. Whether we’re at home, school, or out in the world, it’s crucial to follow safety guidelines to ensure our health and well-being.

At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 2 students recently took part in an engaging, hands-on lesson about safety, both in and outside of the classroom. The students learned important safety measures to follow when traveling in a bus or car. They practiced sitting properly, wearing seatbelts, and following other essential rules to stay safe on the road.

In the classroom, students also explored important safety precautions, such as not touching electrical switchboards. Teachers explained the potential risks and reinforced the importance of being cautious around electrical devices.

The students gained a deeper understanding of personal safety, learning how to protect themselves from potential hazards. One of the most informative parts of the session was a demonstration on first aid. The children learned what items are kept in a first aid kit and how each one is used in an emergency situation. This hands-on experience helped the students connect safety theory with practical knowledge.

Overall, this safety session was not only informative but also a valuable learning experience, providing Grade 2 students with essential skills to stay safe and healthy in their daily lives.
