Quadratic Equations Activity

An activity was held for grade 10 students to help them comprehend the concept of quadratic equations, their roots, and the nature of roots. The children completed this engaging activity by cutting out various shapes such as squares, circles, and rectangles from colourful paper.

Students understood that a quadratic equation is an algebraic equation of the second degree in x. The conventional form of the quadratic equation is ax2 + bx + c = 0, with a and b as coefficients, x as the variable, and c as the constant component. One fundamental law of quadratic equations is that the initial constant cannot be 0.

They also understood that quadratic formulas can be used to find the roots of a quadratic equation and also for application to word problems related to daily life. This formula can also be used to evaluate the solution of quadratic equations replacing the factorization method and completing the square method and formula method. The activity helped the students understand that if a quadratic equation does not contain real roots, then the quadratic formula helps to find the imaginary roots of that equation. They can use the application in real life .
