Rakshabandhan Bandhan at St Lawrence!
Rakshabandhan at St Lawrence!
Rakshabandhan is a celebration unique to Indian culture where the love and bond of siblings is celebrated. Traditionally, sisters tie rakhis to their brothers and the brothers determine to protect their sisters forever. Nowadays, however, all siblings pledge to respect, protect and love each other and keep their bond alive forever.
In our school, we conducted a special activity to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. All the students made their own rakhis by sticking logos on them. Through this activity, they learnt that the Rakhi is a symbol of love and protection and is therefore treated as a sacred thread. The students also learned the importance of caring for one another, just like brothers and sisters do.
This Rakhsha Bandhan activity was a wonderful experience for the students. They not only learned about this beautiful festival but also learned the importance of love, friendship and working together.
