Recycling paper at St Lawrence High School and Junior College
“The Earth is what we all have in common.” – Wendell Berry
At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 2 students enthusiastically participated in a “Paper Bag from Waste Paper” activity during their Art period. Using old newspapers and waste paper, all students carefully folded, pasted, and assembled paper bags while learning the importance of the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. The children showed great interest, creativity, and enthusiasm throughout the activity.
The objective of this activity was to help students understand the importance of reusing waste materials, reducing plastic usage, and developing eco-friendly habits through creative art. Students decorated their paper bags with colours, drawings, and attractive designs, making each bag unique. This hands-on activity enhanced their fine motor skills, creativity, and environmental awareness while encouraging them to contribute towards a cleaner and greener Earth.
