The Art of Letter Writing: Slowing Down in a Fast-Paced World
As Nick Bantock said, “Letter writing is an excellent way of slowing down this lunatic helter-skelter universe long enough to gather one’s thoughts.”
In an age of instant messaging, the Grade 3 students at St. Lawrence High School rediscovered the joy of handwritten letters. They learned how this timeless practice fosters creativity, self-expression, and deep connections—offering a personal touch that digital messages often lack.
To bring this lesson to life, students wrote and posted letters to their classmates, refining their writing skills while embracing values of care and thoughtful communication.
By reviving this tradition, St. Lawrence High School encourages students to slow down and connect more meaningfully in today’s fast-paced world.
