A rigorous Inter-House Math Quiz Competition was conducted in St. Lawrence High School & Jr. College in two groups; viz Junior group of classes 5,6 & 7 and Senior group of classes 8, 9 & 10 with the motto to enhance learning in a fun and interactive way, boosts students’ confidence and remove the fear of ‘MATH’ from their minds.
A preliminary round was conducted in which all the students from grade 5 to 10 participated.
The 24 finalists competed with each other in 5 different rounds, like Warm up round, Choose the topic round, Visual round, Rapid Fire round and Puzzle round. It was a nip and tuck competition.
‘Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing.’ And this was proven by the students of Lotus House in Junior group and by the students of Tulip House in Senior group who outdid their competitors.
The Chief Guest of the competition was Trustee Col. Vijay Kumar Datta who distributed prizes to the winners and encouraged the students to be more focused on the subject as math is everywhere.
