A sacred synergy: A parent and child Ganapati making workshop.
“Children are like wet cement; whatever you pour into them will set.” This quote, perfectly encapsulates the importance of guiding and nurturing our children. It’s through our actions and teachings that we shape their worldview and future.
In an effort to foster environmental awareness and family bonding, St. Lawrence High School & Junior College hosted a Shadu Mati Ganapati making workshop. The event brought together parents and children to create eco-friendly Ganesha idols from clay, a tradition deeply rooted in Indian culture.
The workshop was a heartwarming experience. As parents and children worked together, kneading the clay, shaping the idol, and adding intricate details, they not only created beautiful pieces of art but also strengthened their bond. The workshop was a profound and transformative experience. It was a reminder that even in the face of environmental challenges, we can find solace and inspiration in the timeless wisdom of our ancestors. By honouring tradition while embracing innovation, we can create a future that is both sustainable and spiritually fulfilling.
