At St. Lawrence High School and Junior College the grade 1 students have started learning their new subject – Hindi – since June 2023.

          They now know the Hindi swar from – अ से औ – and can write and pronounce them properly. They learnt to master these alphabets through rhymes and different activities like – rangoli tracing, rice tracing and colour tracing and they also solved the line tracing worksheets.

      By using these methods our little champs became more confident about identifying and writing the script of a language they had only heard until age 5 or 6. Besides, these activities were lots of fun and also challenged their imagination.

They had a great time exploring the written aspects of this language because they were already familiar with the sound of it and could relate it to their real life.
