At St Lawrence High School and Junior College, the Grade 2 students performed a science experiment regarding fingerprints.

Each individual has their own unique fingerprints that set them apart from anyone else in the world. There are so many people in the world but each and every one has a unique and different pattern on their fingers and this is a very fascinating fact about nature.

The Grade 2 students stamped four of their finger expressions on a sheet of paper and in between came the thumb expression of their partners. They then observed their fingerprints and their partners’ with the help of a magnifying glass to be able to see the difference between each.

They were excited and curious to see the different patterns formed on the paper. They enjoyed this task thoroughly and it was a beautiful way to make them observe this magical natural phenomena that literally exists at our fingertips.
