I “see” you at St. Lawrence High School and Junior College!
EVS is an important subject for young kids because it makes them aware of their surroundings and shows them how every little thing is connected to each other in life. It is almost like a study of life itself.
At St Lawrence High School and Junior College the Grade 1 students learnt how no two people are the same and everyone has their own unique qualities. They were given an activity in which they had to observe their friends and compare how they were different or similar in many ways to themselves. They used parameters like height, hair length, eye colour, skin colour etc. to compare.
This was a unique activity in which they learnt to observe closely their peers, whom they otherwise see daily without even noticing tiny details. Thus the children had a great time learning about each other through visual observation. They learnt how to respect each other.
