St. Lawrence High School & Junior College celebrated Makar Sankranti with vibrant colors and enthusiasm, marking the harvest season and the arrival of spring.

The Grade 2 students joyfully created and decorated kite drawings, filling classrooms with creativity and excitement. Teachers explained the festival’s importance, highlighting how farmers thank the Sun God for a good harvest and the need to appreciate nature’s gifts.

Students also learned about the dangers of using nylon manja and the importance of eco-friendly alternatives. The celebration beautifully combined tradition, gratitude and environmental awareness, leaving students inspired and informed.
